College students internships / apprenticeships karte hain taaki real world exposure mile. Companies kabhi-kabhi unko almost full-time employee jaisa treat karne lagti hain, lekin rights clear nahi hote.
Legal frame usually distinguish karta hai:
- Apprentice – formal training contract, stipend, structured program, registrations,
- Intern – more flexible, but still basic dignity, safe conditions, and harassment-free workplace ka right.
Students ko clear hona chahiye: working hours, stipend ya unpaid, leave policy, certificate ka format, and confidentiality clauses. Exploitative setups – no learning, only menial tasks, toxic environment – se ideally institution bhi intervene kare.
Companies ko bhi yeh samajhna chahiye ki intern future talent pool hai, free labour nahi. Fair treatment, mentorship, aur meaningful work long-term reputation build karta hai.
